OW: Chronomancy Professor - Atla

Basic Information

Name: Atla _{[also known as mAtlante, or just Atlante to a scarce few]}
Age: 5 years as a reflection | Mentally old as time | Appears mid-twenties

Species: Timekeeper / Reflection
Species Description: A reflection of the ex-professor of Chronomancy, Atlante Dontae. Atla reflects the deeper parts of his counterpart -- specifically the loose-canon side of what comes with being a Timekeeper. A Timekeeper specifically is one who can play with time in all forms; from scrying to manipulation... and perhaps even compression.

Abilities:

• Master Chronomancy: A master of time manipulation and able to easily scry the past/present/future with little to no effort. Has usual drawbacks: cannot use any Chronomancy on people close to him, those who make unpredictable actions, those of opposite elements, and those with Void as a natural part of themselves.
• Master Cryomancy: A master manipulator of the ice element, though often uses it for secondary things -- like crafting chairs or doodling in the air. Sometimes to make rocks explode.
• Advanced Shadowmancy: Before Drake grew too rusty with his Shadowmancy, he passed a bit of knowledge onto Atla, though Atla himself... rarely uses it.
• Gender Fluidity: Like Atlante, he can shift genders at will; however doesn't often do it, even to troll. It's oddly uncomfortable for him.
  

Academic Information

Level: Professor of Chronomancy
Overview of Class: Teaching his students how to manipulate time, as well as scry with it -- based on general guidelines and rules they must follow. Failure to follow these rules could lead to rather severe punishments, or being kicked out of the department itself.
Teaching Style: He hates giving long-winded lectures. He would much rather breeze through the typical hooby-whatty and make the classes fun and hands-on experienced. As such this leads him into bringing his students into potentially dangerous situations, but also tries to keep them safe and excited for the next lesson. Atla is also always open with his office hours, and happy to cater to his students individually, if needed~
Grading Scale: Effort = score. As long as plenty of obvious effort has been put into the assignment, high points will be graded, as well as higher points in EXP.

Likes:

• Freedom!

• Being default-dubbed Atlante.

Strengths:

• Fast reflexes; it comes from living much of his life in the Alternate Room. Always has to be on guard.
  
• Punctuality; because he always knows what time it is, down to the septilisecond. So he's never late.
  
• Temperature resistant; cannot be harmed by cold temperatures.
• Adaptable; can usually slip comfortably into most any social situation.
• Knowledgable; thanks to sharing his counterpart's many years' knowledge, Atla can recall many a moment in history, one needs only to ask.
  

Weaknesses: 

• Weak immune system; can fall ill very fast, and very dangerously. A simple cold slaps him into bed for at least a week.
  
• Short temper; his patience is rather thin, often shown by how quickly things will freeze around him.
  
• Moody; can sometimes grow dangerously violent or angry, but can also be super happy and hyper. It's unpredictable.
• Fire/Electricity/Void; heat makes him weak, electricity is his main opposite element, Void can kill him instantly.

Goals:

• Teach successful Chronomancers he can be proud of.
  
• Keep his freedom.
• Perhaps find a special someone, but it's not a priority as of yet.

In his time spent out of the Alternate Room, Atla has grown a little more used to socializing with unfamiliar faces. He reaches out to people if they seem approachable -- which to him could amount to anyone and everyone. In his "normal" state of mind and emotions, Atla is quite the teasing fellow. Most of what he says will be spoken with a lilt to his voice, and a grin, wishing to invite others to either react, or join along in a bit of a tease fest. He can be a rather mellow person, but there are times when his mood can suddenly shift. Atla experiences extreme swings of mood every so often -- one day he'll be his usual teasing self, but another he can be very twitchy and angry for no apparent reason.

When this is the case, he often closes himself off from people out of a fear of hurting them in this state (as he's a rather peaceful reflection, who doesn't like to fight unless forced).There are other days where he's extremely happy and clingy, wishing to drag his friends out on whimsical adventures and ensure there are smiles all around. He himself can't predict his moods until the morning of a day, but is content with how he often seems very calm for the most part. As a friend, he can be a sort of guiding force or mother hen to the people he cares about, perhaps giving a bit of insight to wisdom far, far, far beyond his years...

History:

Atla first woke up to an angel fish hovering before his face, and before long, a great shark was chasing him through the Alternate Room. He was born in a child's form due to his counterpart and mDrake both entering the room in this state, and encountered the both of them in his plight -- leading to triple-teaming the shark in order to slay it. Not long after he helped them escape the room he actually couldn't navigate, did Atla run across mDrake's own counterpart, Drake.

A light seemed to glimmer inside of Drake when taking in the sight of a child, as well as taking Atla into his care -- and as the days passed into weeks, months, and years, Atla sought to continually regress his age to help Drake move on from whatever depression he was facing. He never really bothered with whatever his own counterpart was doing, but when it came to pass that Drake told him to be true to himself, he did. Regardless, Drake was a main figure in Atla's short life as a reflection, and when Kellin and mKellin came into the picture, he was often a babysitter for the pair of them.

Atla spent much of his other free time hanging around the reflection of Izzy, the now ex-professor of elementalism. The two became nearly inseparable best friends until the last year or so before they were approached to replace their counterparts as teachers on the campus. Atla was happy to agree (though he didn't give in very easily, it took a literal death threat to make him grow serious about it), and left the room in order to go teach his counterpart's students.

It was an interesting first year for him, seeing as the Alternate Room opened and allowed reflections to pour forth from its walls. Happily enough, Drake was among the influx, and Atla took his turn in pulling the shadowmancer under his care, giving him a room in the Chronomancy department, and often guiding him to bed when he remained awake too long. He may have been busy with his classes much of the time, but he always kept an eye out for his friends, feeling inclined to inform Zyr (Izzy's reflection) of how dangerous his new element Void was, as well as providing support for Sylvain when it came to his relationship with Valyris.

With Atlante returning to the Alternate Room at the end of the year, it will be the first full year of Atla being alone to teach... hopefully having the ex-professor's memories and notes will be enough for many years to come!

Misc. Information:

• His chronomancy enhancer is the watch that's part of the belt he wears.
  
• His skin is icy cold to the touch.
• Can sometimes still be found running around as a child.
• The only hot thing he will eat or drink is probably hot tea.

Atla: *he waited until he was beckoned to open his eyes, but the cue to do so didn't come by way of Lucius telling him directly. No, instead it was the sound of a violin breaking the air, and he opened his eyes to watch the other play his music, watching the other's graceful movements* *he even held his breath, keeping his position still as the other moved about, pulling the notes from skilled fingers and the finely tuned instrument, swaying to the music he had so obviously practiced in the short twenty-four or so hours since they'd met* *it was entrancing, and finally toward the end, the professor leaned his elbows onto his desk, hands folded beneath his chin, and a faint flush of excitement across his cheeks* ...beautiful.
