_{In mythology, a nymph is depicted as a beautiful female water spirit occupying various bodies of water such as lakes, rivers, oceans, etc. Their male counterpart is a satyr, but for obvious reasons, Mirage does not identify as one. His bloodline of fresh water hails specifically from a fresh water lake in the midst of a colorful forest, forever trapped in autumn hues.}

_{The curse attributed to Mirage was passed down in his mother's blood, preventing him from aging past a certain physical appearance, his being a youthful age of 17/18. Not only that, but it has halted his heart from beating and turned his blood thick in his veins. They say his heart is in fact no longer an organ, but a precious crystal... and the only way to break this curse is to kill him. There is only one way to kill him, however, and that is to rip out his heart. This has already happened once; he is not keen for it to happen again.}

_{For being a teacher, Mirage is undeniably one of the more friendly figures to come across on campus; he seems to forget often that he is not a student, and hasn't been for some time. Most of his friends are in fact the students on campus, because he is so easy to approach, and as a teacher and mentor... quite easily pleased with the efforts people put forth in their actions. Well, so long as they're good, beneficial actions -- and as for his Combat Training class, he loves seeing improvement and people taking on his lessons well.

Off the clock, off the record, he seems to be seen being almost sneaky and odd in his actions, ducking away to handle his business in private. He is one who never talks about himself, toting a lot of secrets around behind his bright eyes and amiable attitude. Perhaps it is because he is cripplingly anxious and very self-conscious of the fact, as well as the heavy potion medication he has to temper that. Most don't know of this part to him, and instead know better his more jokester, sassy front that helps him cope through what potions cannot temper.

When it comes to classes, and also in general, in spite of his rather lovely attitude, he's also very reserved and swift to hand down discipline on class clowns. He is extremely patient and will work with those who are struggling to improve -- even with one on one lessons! He is also quite strict, and will make examples of the problem students again and again if necessary. He wants nothing more than to see the people he cares about succeed, and will do all in his power to bolster them and is incredibly supportive of their decisions -- provided they aren't detrimental toward the success of their futures.}

BIOGRAPHY

_{Mirage's history can be summed up in one word: Crazy.

He was raised by a mother with a screw or two loose in her head; she who tried to drown herself, and sometimes tried to drown him. Only when Mirage turned of age did he find out why -- she had been trying to find a break to the curse that ran in their blood... to no avail. He was untouchable by death even from a young age, and when he came to the age of adulthood, he too was trapped in the endless youth his mother's avarice and vanity brought to their bloodline, decades upon decades ago. So Mirage struck out on his own to find an answer... or perhaps his father's help. He knew all his life, his mother was sure of it, that his father was out of the picture not by his own means, and was a powerful time mage; surely he could help.

The result of this journey brought the young nymph teen to a school of the Dark Arts and Magic. Here, he learned time magic from his father, as well as basic hexes... and his personal favorite -- potionsmaking. It was here he first fell in love. It was here he was tortured, beaten, his spirit and his soul shattered. The results of these five years at this school had lasting, damaging, terrible effects on Mirage. He left without a degree, but enough knowledge to get by.

He wandered thereafter, for the next two years, never settling and instead peddling off his knowledge for money and to live off his own means. He kept in contact with his parents, visited them from time to time, even oversaw their reunion... but inevitably he knew a life like this wouldn't last. Thanks to connections through his father, he found out about the opening of Combat Training teacher at Ever After, and applied.

The two years Mirage has spent at Ever After have gone in a bit of a blur. While here, he has seen a whirlwind of change, befriended many, and been a caretaker for "strays" he has brought on campus. He's been through living nightmares, a labyrinth of doom, even a bit of scandal. In spite of this, things were good -- for a while. Then quite suddenly his life was shaken by abandonment and loss of life -- his own life, that was. He's a strong man, but considering the central figure involved in all of this was the one who also up and left... it hurt, and Mirage's ability to function outside of teaching was a bit lacking.

Only recently has Mirage been seeming to recover from a blowback. For someone often easily attaching to others, he's been more than a bit wary to approach the new faces on campus, and has been trying to keep distant from many of the students, unless they approach him first. He's also been trying to recover from old scabs and has been working on weaning himself from anti-anxiety potions... with mixed results.}

_{"Delicate": He looks almost doll-like at first glance. Shimmering snowy hair, turquoise hued eyes that glimmer like crystals, youthful in appearance (doesn't look a day over 19 at MOST), and with a sort of otherworldly air around him. As if one good flick, and he'll crack like porcelain. This is in fact not the case, as he is quite the opposite: he is hardy, athletic, and his punches/kicks pack some surprising amount of power.}

_{Frail: Due to his curse and condition, he does have a rather frail immune system, and his blood does not clot. His heart does not beat, and thus his circulation is, in a word, poor. If his rosy hued cheeks seem brighter than usual, he'll probably knock out with a fever soon after. But don't worry! He bounces back relatively well.}

_{Scarred: He has scars on his wrists from torture, and some seem more fresh from a bout of anxious PTSD he doesn't like to talk about. There's also an ugly scar over his chest at his heart where some nasty magic tore into him and pulled the organ out, temporarily killing him. Seems even eternal youth and beauty is flawed.}

EXTRA GOODIES

His eyes glow faintly now and again. Otherwise they seem to resemble handcut gems, faceted and all.

Has a phobia of immersion in waters due to childhood experiences. Will not go swimming, will never stray near the ocean, and will not take baths.

Is also afraid of heights.

When setting foot into his quarters, one will find every vanity and bookshelf filled with various potion bottles full of many colors of liquids. Not only that, but there are potions textbooks everywhere, many instruments for potions (including a cauldron by the fireplace) and the sweet fragrance of herbs. And yet he's the Combat teacher...

On his left hand (not pictured) is a handmade steampunk watch, a gift from an old friend.

He activates his time magic often through wrist movements or finger snapping. A little red clock seems to hover over his hand as a signal for activation.

Proficient and well-versed in nearly all types of combat technique. His personal favorite is capoiera, and a solid kick from him is likely to send a weaker figure flying through a wall or two. (Compared to his mother, famous for throwing men through four walls once in her ire.)

He plays the cello daily.

Don't take him to a museum unless you want him to ruin history and everything you once thought you knew.
Owns a cat named Rotten who is actually a cat brought back from the dead. She's exceptionally loving, huddles in his bed or at the floor of his closet, doesn't eat mice, and smells like chloroform. She doesn't seem to like other cats, though.
Besides the curse, he inherited his wild strength from his mother.
Not the biggest fan of fairies after the visiting ones up and killed him and all. The exceptions to this are his younger half brothers.
Can't really get drunk; you don't need someone who can control time to be TIPSY, y'know?

_{Mariëlle - - A thriving student whom he's got his eye on; she's always in the midst of conflict, but her determination is admirable.
Skye - - Sparring with her is fun, since fire is his opposite, but she reminds him far too much of a certain someone, and it makes interaction... difficult.
Opal - - His daughter niece whom he cares about very deeply. He keeps a watchful eye over her and appreciates everything she tries to do... even if it's a little "out there."
Miu - - Another sweet girl intimidated by Nel... but he finds her endearing and is willing to help her with whatever she may need of him.

_{Citlali - - His student teacher, whom he's worked with since arriving at the campus. The two are friendly, but more professional with each other than anything.
Esme - - His closest friend at Ever After, and his not-by-blood younger brother. The bond between them is noticeable when they are near each other, and are a good source of support, comfort, and love for each other. Mirage would be lost without Esme around, that's for sure.
Nel - - He watched her grow through high school and get stronger through her trials, and is proud to say he's one of the few Nel has let in to her "inner circle."
Chrono - - They started their schooling at the same time, and Mirage can't help but be proud of the man that his old friend has become... even if it makes him feel severely lacking in comparison.
Phillip - - Funny how switching bodies can make people bond, huh? Mirage will never forget what it was like to have a heartbeat again, and hopes Phil's doing well since Christmas.
Atrahasis - - His blind date for the year, which turned into just having a fun and friendly time. Mirage attributes his recent upswing in mood to Atra, and is very thankful to him!
Azekiel - - He volunteered to give the new teacher a tour, and finds him to be pleasant enough company upon first impression.
Rajan - - A sparring partner at the beginning and slowly becoming more and more of a friend. It's nice to have both a challenge and a well of wisdom around, though Rajan's a little too uncanny at picking up on Mirage's dips in moods...
Lelo - - They've been friends since Mirage's first year, but only recently have they been spending more time together. Spending time with Lelo makes Mirage feel a little better, each and every time.}
